•I was not a horse kid! I used to sit in a tree stump in the very back of the playground. No matter how much time passed every time you looked at my direction I sat there, motionless. One day, however, you look at my tree stump and instead found a tall tree. So tall in fact that it must have been there for decades. You asked the teacher where I was, but at the mention of my name they gave you a confused stare. “There is no Ty in our class.” And they would return to what they were doing. Yet, everyday you still stared at my tree, waiting for me to come back. It’s not until the last day of school that you see me. Standing in plain sight, well, the trees covered parts of me. A branch, in specific, covered my face, but you still knew it was me. You walked towards me, and I didn’t move. But as you walked closer you started to notice things. How pale my skin was. How bruised it was. How I reeked of rot. You stopped in front of me. Neither of us moved, but as the bell rang I moved closer to you. And you noticed my face. I have never seen that look in people before, shock and fear and confusion and anger all at the same time. It was wonderful.
